At KIHOMAC, I led the design and test efforts for a fast-paced engineering initiative to modify our MXU-1072/A Agile Combat Employment (ACE) Pod —originally an internal cargo solution for the F-35—into an externally mounted, supersonic-capable, independently-powered observation system.

Designed, prototyped, and integrated modified AgilePod access panel to add an optical window for flight test recording and filmography. Window is made of sapphire.

Customer requested a non-operating drop-in replacement housing for the M61 Vulcan cannon on the F-16. The replacement housing maintained the weight and balance of the aircraft while disabling the cannon due to ATF restrictions.

Check gages were developed to help reduce inspection time for production parts. The gages were modeled using part CAD data, 3D printed, and then verified using CMM.

The planning, development, and management of an additive manufacturing lab. The lab hosts SLS, large scale FDM, and three SLA machines. The lab is used for the rapid production of prototypes and for production parts. From sealing the floor, to creating the automated job submission system, I was there.

Rapid development of face shield manufacturing plan in response to the start of the pandemic in early 2020.

University of Utah senior design project sponsored by L3Harris. Tasked with replacing the heavy and large pelican cases traditionally used for transporting military electronics, we developed and tested a 3D-printable bumper system that cuts cost and required storage space.

Custom-made part marking stamps using Form 3B and Fuse 1 printers. Formlab's Elastic 50A resin is used for printing the stamping surface on a Form 3B while the handle is made from nylon 12 printed on the Fuse 1. Double-sided foam tape mounts the stamp to the handle.
